One of Ciner’s mine rescue teams recently won first place in the Team Tech Competition held in Ruidoso, New Mexico. The team trained and competed against other teams from around the country.

SweetwaterNow.com explains, “The entire competition was held in the dark to simulate conditions in a mine…Team Tech is the part of the competition where the rescuers must “debug” a gas meter and breathing apparatus. The judges intentionally cause a problem and the rescuers must systematically troubleshoot the problem and repair it. There is a time limit that is difficult to meet.”

Ciner team members included Paul Larsen, Zach Boylen, Kevin Mattinson, Zach Cary, Jeiremy Gomez, Ashley Osborne, and Kendrick Wilson. Trainers included Chris Barker and Dennie Hughes. The team said they gained valuable experience during training and that the Team Tech Competition was challenging.

Ciner Resources’ would like to take a moment to congratulate and thank every team member for their dedication to mine rescue and all of our safety. We would also like to thank all Ciner employees who continue to support mine rescue by covering extra shifts so the team was able to train for this event.
